Tiny Hooves, Big Joy: A Season of Baby Goats at Little Tail Farms

If happiness had hooves, it would look a lot like spring at Little Tail Farms.

Over the past few weeks, our pastures have been dancing with new life, baby goats galore! From the moment their wobbly legs found solid ground, they filled the farm with leaps, bleats, and laughter. Whether you’ve followed their stories online or met them in person, you know: this year's kidding season was something special.

Born to Frolic

This year brought a record number of new arrivals (16!!), each with their spunky personality and storybook charm. From twin doelings who nap curled up like commas to bold little bucklings who leap before they look, our pastures have become a playground of pure delight. We even had surprise quints who debuted during our first Bottles & Babies event. Some were born in the hush of dawn, others under the glow of the barn lights. Each one arrived with floppy ears, soft little maa’s, and a heart-stealing presence.

Their days are simple and joy-filled. Mornings begin with a chorus of soft maa’s and playful headbutts. After breakfast (warm bottles or mom’s milk, depending on the baby), the fun begins: upturned feed buckets become mountain peaks to conquer, old logs turn into balance beams, and straw piles transform into launching pads for goat parkour.

We’ve watched them chase butterflies, play tag across the hilltop, and tumble over each other in a tangle of tiny legs and giggles (ours, not theirs). If joy had a soundtrack, it would sound like baby goat bleats echoing against the barn doors. Guests have called them “nature’s antidepressants,” and we couldn’t agree more.

Farm-Fresh Memories

Whether you stayed with us this spring or just followed along online, the baby goats at Little Tail Farms have a way of stealing hearts from afar. Guests have lingered at the fence line just to watch their antics. One guest said it best: “I came for the quiet, but the goat babies were the loudest joy I didn’t know I needed.”

And they’ve returned the favor—these kids are growing up with gentle hands and laughter all around. Raised with love, care, and socialized from day one, they’re more than livestock. They’re part of our story. Part of yours.
